Portable Power Stations

How to Choose an AFERIY Power Station

Compare AFERIY P040, P010, P180 Pro, P210, P280 and P310 power stations by load, capacity, expansion, solar input, weight and backup needs.

Start with the AFERIY power station's real loads

List the appliances the station must run and separate essentials from conveniences. Record continuous watts, startup surge where available, expected runtime and whether the device is plug-in or hardwired. A router and laptop create a very different load from a fridge, water pump, heater or power tool.

Use the appliance label, manual or an energy monitor rather than a category average. Then compare the total load and desired runtime with the exact AFERIY model, allowing margin for conversion losses, battery condition, temperature and the reserve you want before shutdown.

Match the AFERIY model family to the job

AFERIY's current US range moves from compact systems such as the 400W / 256Wh P040 and 800W / 512Wh P010 through the 1,800W / 1,024Wh P180 Pro to larger 2,400W / 2,048Wh P210, 2,800W / 2,048Wh P280 and 3,600W / 3,840Wh P310 systems. Output and capacity rise unevenly across the range, so neither number should be used alone.

A small station can be the better choice when portability and simple device charging matter most. Larger systems make sense when the load list includes appliances that require more continuous output or when longer runtime is essential. Confirm the exact generation, regional configuration and included accessories before comparing prices.

Choose fixed or expandable AFERIY capacity

The P210 is a fixed-capacity design, while several AFERIY families support additional batteries. The P180 Pro starts at 1,024Wh and expands to 5,120Wh, while the P280 and P310 support larger expansion ranges. Expansion is useful only when the matching battery, cable, voltage and maximum system limits are clear.

Extra batteries also change weight, footprint and charging time. Decide whether you need a system that can grow, or whether a lighter standalone unit will be easier to move and maintain. Do not assume an expansion battery from one AFERIY family fits another.

Compare AFERIY AC and solar recharge

Wall charging is the baseline for an outage, but an outage can remove that source. Check the model's AC input limit and supported solar voltage, current, connector type and maximum wattage. The P180 Pro accepts up to 500W of solar through its XT60 input within the published voltage range.

Plan for realistic solar production rather than the best possible laboratory result. Shade, cloud, season, panel angle and portable-panel placement all reduce output. If vehicle charging matters, confirm the required cable and port for the exact model.

Check AFERIY ports, weight and backup setup

Count the AC, USB-C, USB-A, DC and vehicle outputs you need at the same time, and check their individual limits. A high total inverter rating does not guarantee that every port can deliver its maximum simultaneously. Compare weight and dimensions with the route the unit will travel, including stairs and vehicle storage.

For household backup, a portable station is not the same as a permanently installed battery. Confirm transfer method, grounding, ventilation and local electrical requirements with a qualified professional. For apartment or RV use, also verify the exact outlet voltage and any landlord or campsite restrictions.
